Amaechi Steps Down as Transport Minister

Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, has resigned from the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

According to a report in the Nigerian Tribune.

The report quoted sources close to the former Minister as saying that he sent “his resignation letter today “.

Last week, President Muhammadu Buhari directed that all Federal political appointees seeking electoral office in the upcoming general elections resign.

Buhari set today, May 16, 2022, as the deadline for appointees to comply with the order.
