Again, Scores K!lled, 35 Corpses Recovered As Gunmen Attack Benue IDP Camp

An unspecified number of persons living at the Internally Displaced Persons, IDP camp situated at the LGEA Primary School Mgban, in Nyiev Council Ward of Guma Local Government Area of Benue State have been killed by suspected herdsmen.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Friday night when the assailants invaded the camp and opened fire on the occupants.

Nathaniel Ikyur, Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Samuel Ortom confirmed the ugly development.

He said about 35 corpses have been recovered from the scene while several others were seriously injured.

The development is coming barely three days after the criminal elements suspected to be Fulani herders killed at least 45 persons in Otukpo Local Government Area of the state.

Calls put through to the spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command, DSP Catherine Anene did not go through as of the time of filing this report.
