Convicted Kidnäper, Evans’ Trial Postponed Due To A Fire Incident — Court Reveals
The trial of Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, the convicted kidnap kingpin alias Evans, who was accused with attempted kidnapping, was halted on Friday due to a fire that disrupted his transit to an Ikeja Special Offences Court.
Evans is on trial with Joseph Emeka for the attempted kidnapping of Chief Vincent Obianodo, the chairman of Young Shall Grow Motors.
According to NAN, the court set Friday, June 15 to hear Obianodo’s testimony via zoom.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo announced at the start of today’s proceedings that the defendants’ transportation had been disrupted by a fire.“I was informed by the Officer in Charge of legal (OC) that there was a fire incident which affected the transportation of the defendants,” the judge said.
“For security reasons, the defendants can not be present in court.”
Oluwatoyin, however, adjourned the case until July 25 for trial.
