Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, has commenced counting down to the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

President Bubari, who was elected in 2015, is expected to handover to the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29 2023, a few weeks from now.

Excited by the development, Adesina in an article titled, “THE FINAL GALLOP HOME”, anticipated returning home to rest after serving the country for eight years.

According to him, some of his colleagues in the presidency, including himself, had never served in any government before and had no plans to but for the love for Nigeria and Buhari.

He said, “Home is that place you go to rest, after the labour and toil of the day. It is that place you find succor and respite, after the vagaries and vicissitudes that go with your daily exertions. No wonder they say, home, sweet home. There shouldn’t be a bad home. Worse than hell.

“In about 44 days, we’ll be home. Who are the ‘we?’ Those of us who serve with President Muhammadu Buhari, whose second term expires on May 29, this year.

“We had never served in government, didn’t even want to, but for love of country and of that honest man from Daura, we took the plunge. Now, it’s time to return home. Happily”.

Adraina said that in the last few weeks, he has been painstakingly going through his office in preparation for his departure come May 29.
