The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State has revealed that 27 corps members will have their service year extended for various infractions.
The NYSC also stated that 20 corps members absconded during the 2021 Batch C Stream II service year.
The Osun NYSC State Coordinator, Olayinka Abdulwahab made this known during the low key passing out ceremony held for the 2021 Batch C Stream II on Thursday, Nov. 17.
During the ceremony held at the local government secretariats across the State, Abdulwahab stated a total of 2870 corps members of the 2021 Batch C Stream II successfully completed their one year mandatory service to the nation.
She said: “I hail you for successfully scaling through the four cardinal programs of the scheme and for being good ambassadors of the scheme at your various places of primary assignment during the service year.
“I commended the doggedness and tenacity of the Corps Members and thank you for impacting the lives of the people of the State positively.
“A total of 20 Corps members absconded, while 27 had their service year extended for various infractions.”
She added that news reports of corps members’ conduct from the various quarters and corps employers in the State are pointers to the fact that the scheme truly is living up to its name and objectives.
