The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has confirmed that he’s still in talks with Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.

He made the confirmation on Sunday.

The former Governor of Anambra State disclosed this during a panel session at the Men of Valour Conference convened by the Revival House of Glory in Abuja.

This is coming after NNPP debunked the claim that Kwankwaso will deputise Obi in the 2023 general election.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Agbo Major in his reaction said there was never a time such a discussion or negotiation was held.

Obi, however, said there is an ongoing discussion with NNPP over a possible merger.

The presidential candidate while speaking at the panel session on Sunday said, “We have prayed enough, it is time to act. With these people in power? You can pray from now until any time, they won’t go until you chase them out.

“So it is time to act, not just pray. It is time for us to close the church and deal with these people.”

Speaking on the possibility of merging, Obi said, “All I can say is that what he said is correct. I can’t say more than that.”
