2019 OAU Best Graduating Student Dies After Sustaining Head Injury In Car Accident

Best graduating student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), 2019 set, Folashade Salako has died following a ghastly car accident she was involved in.

Folashade who won the first Shalina’s international Young Pharmacist Award and the best graduating student of her set, died on Wednesday, April 21st, from injury inflicted on her head during the car accident.

The young promising lady was rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH), in Ibadan, Oyo State for a surgical operation. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead after series of effort to save her.

Folashade Salako won the 2019 Shalina Young Talent Award (SYTA) where she was crowned as Nigeria’s “best Pharmacy brain”.

The young lady beat 360 contestants from some of Nigeria’s top Universities to scoop first place in the competition.

A Twitter user, @gracii_funso who took to the platform to mourn her demise, blamed poor management of traffic road accidents for the death of the promising Nigerian.

In her words,

“If road traffic accidents were managed well, Folashade Salako best graduating student OAU Pharmacy School, winner of Shalina’s international Young Pharmacist Award wouldn’t have died this morning”.
