A 17-year-old student from Oyemekun Grammar School in Akure, Ondo State, Philip Solomon, is now a Guinness World Record holder for the highest number of skips on one foot within a 30-second timeframe.

On January 24, Solomon successfully completed an impressive 153 skips on a single foot within the given 30-second interval, surpassing the previous record of 145 held by Rasel Islam from Bangladesh.

After a four-month period following his attempt, it was officially verified and Solomon was acknowledged for his remarkable accomplishment

“Solomon was inspired by the previous holder of this record title Rasel Islam after seeing a video of his record attempt. He has been training to achieve the record and was honoured to attend a skipping world championship,” it announced on its website.

Following in the footsteps of his fellow student Gbenga Ezekiel from Ijapo High School in Akure, Solomon, a student from the same school, has now added to Nigeria’s collection of Guinness World Records in rope skipping.

In February, Ezekiel achieved the title of world record holder for the highest number of skips on one leg in one minute, accomplishing an impressive 265 skips.

Inspired by Ezekiel’s remarkable achievement earlier in the year, Solomon, a senior secondary school three student, embarked on his own record-breaking journey.
