14 bandits have been killed following an attempted attack on a police station in Benue state on Sunday morning June 20.
According to Benue police spokesperson, gunmen numbering about 50 launched an attack in the early hours of Sunday, June 20 on a police station at Katsina-Ala town of the state in a bid to free some suspected bandits who were arrested by police on Saturday, June 19 and detained in the station.
14 of the gunmen were killed at the end of the gun duel while others escaped with bullet wounds.
Anene said;

Operatives of the force are on the trail of the fleeing bandits and members of the public have been asked to come forward with any information that will lead to their arrest.
